INK CARTRIDGES AND TONER CARTRIDGES – WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Good question – and one you'll need the answer to when buying cartridges for your printer. Both ink cartridges and toner cartridges are used by printers to print text and images on to paper.

Ink cartridges, such as the ones featured on this page, work with inkjet printers and that’s the type of printer most people have at home. (Unless they do huge volumes of printing, in which case they may well own a laser toner printer.) The ink cartridge holds liquid ink which is used to print onto paper – and voila, you can print off your plane tickets, holiday bookings, the recipe for your favourite lemon drizzle cake (complete with picture of how the finished product should look) and letters of complaint to your electricity company about the sudden rise in your bills. The ink in the cartridges is known as a dye based ink that is made with solvents that dry very quicky under the heat of the printer, this is so that the colours don't merge and you get crisp quality prints on each page.

So if your inkjet printer has run out of juice, you’ll need to buy printer ink. Each printer manufacturer has a different type of ink cartridge some have a tank such as Epson ink cartridges and some use a different method such as HP ink cartridges but that’s all technical jargon, you can find more about that and the different models of inkjet printer on our blog which also has a great host of resources on which types of printer are good for different printing needs.

Here at Uktonercartidges.co.uk, we aim to bring you the lowest prices for all types of ink and toner cartridges.

Our range of remanufactured and compatible ink cartridges will save you more than half the price of the original ink cartridges. The reduction in price, however, doesn't affect the quality of the finished product. All of our remanufactured and compatible products are tested for use this is why we are sure they offer the same quality as the original ink cartridges just at a cheaper price.

We take a lot of pride in our work, so we don't sell inferior goods. Other online retailers may offer cheaper prices for ink cartridges, but if something sounds too good to be true it usually is... We won’t try to compete on price with sellers on auction sites who sell an inferior quality product. We provide our customers with value for money that’s why we pride ourselves in being the cheapest solution for high-performing quality products, which is why when you buy ink cartridges from uktonercartridges.co.uk you’ll get the best ink cartridges for your money.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH INK CARTRIDGE I NEED TO BUY?

Please make sure you purchase the correct printer cartridge. Looking for toner cartridges? You can find them on our Toner Cartridges section.

To find the cartridge for your printer, you can either search by printer model, or by ink cartridge model number. If you know your model number, simply type it into the search box at the top of this page. If you prefer to search for your ink cartridge by printer, use our top navigation or the cartridge finder on the home page.

We stock products for HP, Brother, Samsung, Canon, Xerox, Oki and Dell ink and toner, as well as products that are compatible with these printers.

OK, OK I'M ALMOST CONVINCED – ANYTHING ELSE YOU CAN THROW IN?

Blimey, you drive a hard bargain, but here goes... As you now know, we offer cheap printer cartridges and discounts on bulk orders and sets of cartridges, we'll also do next day delivery if you order before 3pm, all of our products come with a 30 day warranty and we throw in free gifts with certain orders of ink cartridges. Satisfied?

And just to finish off, here's some ideas for making your ink go further.

  • Make sure you print out at least once a week to stop the cartridge drying out.

  • Use Times New Roman, font size 12 for the bulk of your printing as you get more words on a page.

  • Use the draft or economy setting on your printer and print in black and white where possible.

  • Use the print friendly option where it is available as this gets rid of unnecessary text and graphics, or there are browsers add-ons which can do this for you.

  • If you are printing out letters or other reports you have written yourself, spell check and proof-read them as carefully as you can to avoid the need to print out multiple times.
